The Hall of Fame used Monday to focus on the Career Networking Event. The event held at the Full Sail Live venue, was meant to give Full Sail students and alumni a chance to network with companies that are looking to hire. Students were expected to have done research on a few of participating companies and find out the positions they were interested in. There were a lot of highly reputed companies ranging from Rooster Teeth to Universal; so doing some prior research was not a bad idea. Some research, a resume and a portfolio (if applicable) meant you were equipped to go the the event!

"The students were then let loose in the venue housing about 40 booths."

Once there, it was pretty clear that it was a packed house. With the line to enter the venue at one point stretching up till the Fish Bowl, students had to wait a considerable amount of time just to enter the venue. The students were then let loose in the venue housing about 40 booths. With so many people being there, students who put in the work and effort to get where they wanted to go. This helped show off how dedicated a student was to what they wanted to do, were they willing to wait 20 minutes for a chance to network with Rooster Teeth? And with the lines, students had to utilize every moment they had with the big companies to cause a lasting impact and be memorable.

For students who were able to do that, the opportunities were amazing! Most of the companies there were reviewing demo reels and accepting resumes on the spot. They broke down and explained the requirements for the positions they were looking for, explained benefits, and also assisted the students on how to apply online.

This was a great opportunity for students to start getting real experience marketing themselves to a company. Most importantly, this made students think “Hmm, what makes me stand out?”

Also an update from a previous article, the MCBS scavenger hunt still went on despite the huge turnout. MCBS students were able to network, take pictures, create and share some cool collages!
