This panel has had me excited ever since I read about it, because I am a longtime fan of Phil Pallen. For anyone who doesn’t know Phil Pallen, he is a brand strategist who graduated from Full Sail.

Without further adieu, let me take you through his presentation. It started with a video introduction made by Phil in which he explained the importance of personal branding. Phil Pallen, being an energetic persona, created a similar atmosphere at the venue too.
He started by giving his own definition of personal brand, he said, “Your brand is the control that you have over your first impression.” According to Pallen, your brand should be a reflection of who you are in real life, you just have to learn how to communicate.
Phil gave the audience some questions that they needed to ask themselves before starting our brand. Who are you?
"Write down three thing I wouldn’t know about you, just by looking at you. How would you describe yourself in three words?"
Those were a few questions he poised towards the audience. Phil later shared that he asks his clients these questions before he starts to work with them so that he can create an effective plan to develop their brand.
In the panel, Pallen also had a special guest, Fernando Delgado, who happens to be one of the inductees to the Hall of Fame this year. Fernando talked about his 20 years of experience of being an entrepreneur, he also involved the audience by making them vote to help him make some design choices.
Phil and Fernando showed the audience some examples on how to interview a client to understand them, in order to effective brand for them. On the same topic Phil said,”The more aware you are about yourself the closest you are to create a successful personal brand.” Another advice that Pallen gave to the audience was to choose two or three social media platforms and try to be active all the time.
After watching Phil Pallen talk about brand, my biggest takeaway was that in order to build a successful brand, I have to understand myself, my morals and stay true to them. This will definitely help me build my brand that will reflect me and my values.
