Sunday, Feb 11, 2018. In the Full Sail Live Venue, Overwatch tryouts were held for the Armada eSports league. The way the day was set up, six different teams were pitted against each other. Best of three, winner moving forward in the bracket. Till only two teams remain, from there a best of five match was played. Winner becoming the Full Sail Armada Varsity team, with second place becoming the Junior Varsity team.

"The room was filled to the brim with excitement as the games were played out."

The room was filled to the brim with excitement as the games were played out. Students of the highest caliber where placed against each other. These teams had been practicing for months to get their chance to make the cut. All that work paid off here today. Each team did quite well, although there were some hilarious goofs (Reinhardt charging off Eichenwalde), but overall, all the teams played amazingly. There were several close matches, but in the end only one team can be victorious.

The final showdown between I'll Swap and The Yellow Team, was a close one. In a best of three of five, the first match ended in a long fought out draw. Then, something just clicked with I'll Swap. They played several near perfect games. Lining up some amazing team moves, completely swamping the floor at times. Their opinionated, did their best to keep up. They played a good game, even having moments where it looked like they'd have a comeback. Yet the communication from I'll Swap was just too good to beat. I'm very excited to see both of these team’s progress and play as they take on other teams outside of Full Sail.

All in all, it was an amazing day. The crowd was alive, and the shoutcasters did an amazing job. “It was a lot of things, it was fun, it was terrifying; I got to network and even reach out to a Hall of Famer. So it was a win/win/win,” shoutcaster Jessica Reider said. Keeping up with the plays and everything that was happening. The Armada tech team did very well today, keeping the feed running. Technical hiccups happen, but they did their best keeping the show running. I know I'll be at every event I can go to from now on, hopefully we will see you there.
