February has come around with love in the air; people are getting busy with pink, fuzzy and heart shaped stuff but things are different around Full Sail. Don’t get me wrong, we are totally feeling the love in the air, but for us our love towards arts and entertainment industry is much too overpowering, and so we celebrate this time by honoring the success and achievement in the form of Hall of Fame.

"This is the 9th year that Full Sail will be hosting Hall of Fame where dreamers and achievers are celebrated."

This is the 9th year that Full Sail will be hosting Hall of Fame where dreamers and achievers are celebrated. Every year Full Sail brings back its alumni who have had an impact on their respective fields and continue with their contributions. Last year six alumni were added to the Full Sail Hall of Fame; Andrew Coleman, Elbert Perez, Jack Geckler, Martin Potoczny, Stephen Beres and Steven C. Miller. Their works ranged from music production to film production, and animation leads to game developments.

The event itself had kicked off with Grammy celebrations where multiple alumni were either nominated or they

were part of nominated works. Students got to experience a full on red carpet event in the real time as the Grammy. The celebration was followed by a career networking event and career expo where students got to network and interact with their potential employers. Companies like Sony, Adobe, Wacom, Sennheiser etc. were part of the on campus event. This was then followed by a number of educational panels and workshops given by the Hall of Famers, where students took the opportunity to get close insight into industry level work processes with the panelists.

Full Sail also welcomed Chuck D and Chilli, who gave the students a once in a college-time experience to directly interact with them. There were multiple one-on-one sessions with the alumni and Hall of Famers for the few students who won the Student Experience Competition. The students were presented with an immense amount of knowledge from every direction and the students were found taking advantage of this opportunity.

On a lighter note, the campus was also lit with fun activities like silent disco, food trucks, wall climbing and some more. The week-long event ended with a block party and some feisty fireworks. All in all, I would say Hall of Fame is a great opportunity for students to network but more than that it is an experience and exposure towards possibilities.

In just a couple weeks, Hall of Fame 9 will commence and if I have learned anything from my last experience, I will spongify myself and try to soak in as much as I can from the week that goes by faster than a blink of an eye.

Keep yourself updated and schedule ahead with the Hall of Fame 9 app for iPhones and android and also follow our social media for latest happenings.
