I Can’t Wait ‘til Hall of Fame 8!

As I was sitting in a hustling and bustling room a week ago with excited people, planning our Hall Of Fame 8 coverage, I found myself wondering “What am I supposed to do? What exactly is happening?” I have been hearing about Hall of Fame ever since I came to Full Sail last July, and now finally, it’s here! There are HOF posters everywhere on campus, the website is revamped, and there is an excited buzz in the air.

The social media team is going headfirst into the media platforms to get it set for the upcoming week. The planning is going in lightning speed (ok not that fast, but pretty fast!) and when everyone was already talking about the inductees and panels and how to cover them, I was still trying hard to get my head around the idea that we are going to be around all those people whose names we usually only see on the big screen!
I have been frantically going through the last year’s events on YouTube, the Full Sail website and Facebook to understand the event better, because I felt like I was playing catch up.
As I caught up with my mates, I learned about the HOF events from past years, but all of it seemed too good to be true. The past panels included the names of people that I have been following for a long time. Ashish Manchanda from the Indian music industry, Jack Geckler from “How To Train Your Dragon”, Jeff Unay who worked on “Avatar”, DJ Swivel who mixed one of this years biggest hits “Closer” by the Chainsmokers, Stephen Beres who is the VP of Media and Production on “Game of Thrones”and the list goes on and on. These industry titans were all a part of Hall Of Fame in past couple years.
And if those names excited me, the inductees of this year actually made me squeal out loud that kind of startled my roommate. The list includes Laurie Brugger who worked on the visual effects for “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1”, “Gravity,” and “Guardians of the Galaxy.” Kristifir Klein who works at Pixar Animation Studios, Keith Guerrette who is the lead Visual Effects artist at Naughty Dog, and Gary Rizzo who worked on the sound for ‘The Dark Night” and this is not even the half of the list. I finally understood the reason behind the excitement in the hustling bustling room.
Now that I had better idea of what Hall of Fame was about, I was set on getting the best the spot to be in; so I entered this competition for the VIP passes. A few days later, I got an email saying that I had been selected as one of those 50 students to receive the VIP passes! Now I am not even going to attempt to express in words how I felt but I would say that I am definitely counting down the days to Hall of Fame. I have downloaded the Hall of Fame app on my phone and I have been trying to figure out what events I can attend because suddenly, days seem to be much shorter and my calendar seems to be filling up! For now, I just hope I will figure it by the 12th!
I hope everyone is as excited for Hall of Fame week as I am, let’s have an awesome week!
