"Time For a Gold Rush"

Fireworks illuminate the skies as music resounds off the walls of the Full Sail Live Venue. Screams, whistles, and clapping descend upon the red carpet. Six alumni gracefully march to the stage. This is the tenth-year anniversary of the Hall of Fame event at Full Sail University. The event is a mixture of Spirit Week, Homecoming, and any convention. Full Sail’s “spirit week” is five days long, and the spirits of the people at the university are at an all-time high. It is a “homecoming” to the alumni that are working in their chosen industries: film, television, music, gaming, art, and design. Hall of Fame gives these alumni an opportunity to bequeath knowledge to the students.

Six Full Sail alumni are nominated for the prestigious Hall of Fame award. They get this nomination according to three factors: First, they have graduated Full Sail and worked in the industry for more than years. Second, they have accomplished some memorable accomplishment in their industry within those ten years, such as winning a Grammy. The last factor for getting inducted into the Hall of Fame is how the inductee gave back to the students of Full Sail.

This year marks not only the tenth year anniversary of Hall of Fame, but also the 40th anniversary of the Full Sail institution. The theme of this event is called “Ten-gether” with a golden homage. It’s time for a gold rush where students decide what their “gold” is during this event. “Gold” is defined as a goal or aspiration a person is trying to achieve. A person’s perception of gold varies from person to person.
