For Full Sail’s 10th year of Hall of Fame, we decided to go around to different campus events and catch up with ten students on their experiences, inspirations, and ambitions.

Alex | Film Student

Alex, like many other students, felt like Full Sail was a place where he would find like-minded individuals. As someone who considers himself very creative, Alex was pulled towards the environment of Full Sail and the many different people that make up the student body.

Alex is inspired by his parents, who motivate him in his creative endeavors. Alex hopes that Full Sail will help him achieve his dream of being a production coordinator on a big budget film.

When it comes to Hall of Fame, Alex is most interested in events like the Career Expo that showcase the many opportunities for networking with unique and professional individuals.

Thiago | Entertainment Business Student

As an international student, Thiago came to Full Sail because he wanted to find a different life than the one he had in Brazil. He knew that he wanted to go to a college that would allow him to have freedom to be creative and innovative with his art.

Thiago is inspired by people like Lloyd Kaufman, a successful independent film producer. He hopes to someday be like Kaufman and open his own independent production company.

Thiago thinks Hall of Fame is a huge opportunity for Full Sail students to continue to develop their skills and showcase their talents. Although the week is often very chaotic and busy, Thiago believes that events like this are a great example of why he came to Full Sail in the first place.

Jay | Media Communications Graduate

As a Full Sail alumni, Jay looks back on his experience as a student as a time of growth. What brought Jay to Full Sail initially was its structure. He loves the creative and artistic freedom allotted to students, and he greatly appreciates how supportive an environment it was for him.

Jay is most inspired by the people around him that have supported him the most on his journey. One of those people was Emily Wray, an MCBS professor here at Full Sail that provided Jay with a lot of guidance as he navigates a career in media.

Jay is thankful for the opportunity to work at Hall of Fame this year as an alumnus and staff member. He thinks Hall of Fame is a huge benefit to students, and he hopes everyone takes full advantage of all the opportunities they will be given this week.

Stephon | Game Design Student

After encountering the college for the first time through online advertisements, Stephon decided that Full Sail might be the place where he could achieve his dreams. Stephon has been all about games for a pretty long time, and he finds inspiration in the games he played growing up, such as God of War.

Stephon’s current goal is to become a game designer at a prominent company like Blizzard. He hopes to one day be involved in creating games that inspire others.

Stephon thinks Hall of Fame is going great so far. He strongly recommends hanging around the backlot and participating in all the fun and unique events taking place there.

Grayson | Music Production Student

As someone who grew up in a northern state, Grayson was immediately attracted to Full Sail’s location in sunny Florida. What sold him on Full Sail was its strong entertainment focus and great music production reputation.

Grayson finds a great deal of inspiration in other people’s music, especially independent artists. Grayson hopes to make great music one day in an environment where that music can positively affect other people.

When it comes to Hall of Fame, Grayson thinks one of the best things about it is all the prizes that students can win throughout the week. He is looking forward to the many fun things happening the rest of the week and hopes to meet some new people.

Jessi | Game Art Student

Looking for better communication opportunities with industries in the Florida area, Jessi decided to come to Full Sail to pursue a degree in game art.

Inspired by the unique games she played growing up, Jessi hopes that Full Sail will help her achieve her dream of working for a gaming company like Nintendo.

We caught up with Jessi at the Cosplay contest, where she was dressed as Minami Natsume from the game Idolish7. Jessi describes Hall of Fame as a fun and artistic opportunity for students in all degree programs.

Brian | Film Student

Brian is a 19-year-old film student who initially came to Full Sail for game development. Before he got here, he realized his interest really was in film. He already knew plenty about film and thought he could learn more, but also start working earlier and doing what he loved.

Brian’s parents inspire him everyday to go and get what he wants. He says his parents are hard workers and drive him to be the best he can be in whatever he decides to do.

Brian says that Hall of Fame is a great way to meet new people. He enjoyed the first day of Hall of Fame and knows it can only get better from here. The networking opportunities for him are amazing and he hopes that they will help him secure a job on a film set where he feels like he can truly be himself.

Jess | Media Communications Graduate

Jess is a media communications graduate that came to Full Sail after going through a dark time in her life. She found a light in Full Sail, and the welcoming and supportive environment it created for her.

Jess is most inspired by the women in her life. She was raised by strong women who inspired her to follow her dreams and achieve her goals.

Hall of Fame instills a strong sense of school spirit in Jess and is a place everyone can come together and have a good time. It is also a good thing to come back and experience and still find connections. These all come together to help her get a job in some type of marketing or writing in the video game industry.

Lauren | Media Communicaitons Student

Unsure of what she wanted for her future, Lauren is a 20-year-old media communications student. She decided to come to Full Sail for the creative environment. She sees Full Sail as a place for her to gain the skills she needs to help her in whatever field she decides to go into.

Lauren is inspired by many different things for many different reasons. She considers her main inspirations to be Tyler the Creator and GraceFitUK. They both inspire her to be creative and independent in her work as a Creative Director.

Lauren loves that Hall of Fame is something for the students to enjoy. She appreciates that it offers networking and collaboration opportunities with people from other degree programs that she wouldn’t get to interact with otherwise.

Maura | Music Production Student

Maura is 21-year-old music production student that came to Full Sail to acquire musical skills in hopes of getting a job within the industry. Although she was unsure at first, she knew it was the creative space she needed to thrive after taking a tour of the campus.

Maura’s biggest inspiration is music that people can connect to, like Taylor Swift. Maura writes lyrics and music from her own personal experience, and she hopes that people are able to connect with and relate to her work.

For Maura, Hall of Fame is great motivator. She finds it extremely empowering to see people that were once in her position achieve and accomplish so much. She hopes to use this inspiration and motivation to become a recording and touring artist in the near future.
