One of the panels that was offered at Full Sail University Hall of Fame 11 was a panel on mixing music for theme parks. The panel featured Dan Fontana, Dan Scott, Jeff Villanueva,
Stephen Marro, and Tommy Bailey, which all work at TYFY Studios and are all Full Sail University graduates. TYFY Studios is a music and sound production company here in Orlando and their main client is Disney.
TYFY studios has done a lot of music and sound for Disney and during the panel the panelist told the audience some of the projects that they have worked on at Disney. Projects that TYFY has worked on for Disney include Happily Ever After Firework Show, Oga’s Cantina, Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular, and many more. They also do not just focus on Walt Disney World they have worked on projects for Disneyland Paris, Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland Hong Kong, and ESPN.
During the question part of the panel many audience members asked questions about the difference between making music for tv or film and theme parks. The panelist talked about how theme parks are harder because the area is so big and speakers are put faraway for the audience and you have to have a lot of different levels to make it sound good.
TYFY Studios being owned by Full Sail graduate Dan Fontana and having a staff of Full Sail graduates also helped give the audience great information on how to transition from Full Sail University to the industry. All in all the panel was very informative and interesting.
